The largest furniture trade show in the US - in High Point, North Carolina - took place on 13-21 October 2020. This is a particularly important year for the Polish furniture industry, because for the first time a national showroom with products from 7 Polish brands, including Szynaka Meble, greeted American customers. It was created as part of the European Smart Design from Poland project - a joint initiative of the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers and the Polish National Foundation. This opened up great new opportunities for Poland - as the second furniture exporter in the world to start conquering the American market.

October's High Point Fair was the first furniture event of this scale to be successfully organised at this difficult time of the coronavirus pandemic. Extending the duration of the event to 9 days helped reduce traffic congestion and stagger business talks and meetings. The urban fair and exhibition complex in High Point boasts an over 100-year-old tradition of furniture trading in the United States. The event attracts crowds of professionals, designers, interior designers and traders from the US every year. High Point differs from trade fair centres in Europe in that exhibitions are spread over nearly 160 venues throughout the city (total exhibition area of more than 1.1 million square metres), and the city mainly lives off biannual exhibitions dedicated to the furniture industry. Participation in this trade fair has huge business potential, as the event is an unmissable item on the agenda for those who decide to supply furniture to US retail chains.

The joint stand of leading furniture manufacturers gave us a great opportunity to present a rich portfolio of domestic products to American customers. The event became a kind of field for exchanging experiences, as well as gaining new knowledge about the needs, tastes and expectations of American customers. By correctly defining target groups and getting to know their characteristics we were able to prepare an offering dedicated to the American market in an accurate and well-thought-out manner. The implementation of the above project will indirectly translate into the development of economic cooperation between Poland and the United States. For retailers in the US, our country has the potential to become a reliable and significant source of supply.
